About cryptograms.app

cryptograms.app is a free cryptogram site. Every day there is a new quote puzzle, the same for everyone, and you can play as many extra puzzles as you like. It is made to be calm and easy to read: large letters, one puzzle in the middle of the page and nothing to sign up for.

The quotes

The site has 601 quotes, enough for a different daily puzzle for well over a year. All of them come from writers and speakers of the past whose work is in the public domain, from Shakespeare and Jane Austen to Mark Twain, Abraham Lincoln and G. K. Chesterton. We checked each quote and author against Wikiquote, used only quotes listed there with a source, and left out doubtful and misattributed ones. After you solve a puzzle you see where the quote comes from.
